2015 the Year of HD Images

My Canon EOS camera and this website for that matter have taken a back seat over the last couple of years as I have evolved into using social media and my mobile phone more to capture and display that image.

There is nothing wrong with that approach but it no longer fitted in with my existing work flow and website design meaning promotion of my work was not as slick as it could be.

Behold my new website a fusion of self hosted WordPress and SmugMug!

I have spent a lot of time over the last couple of years working with WordPress for friends and local organisations and its pretty impressive how customisable it is for something that started out as a simple blog platform. SmugMug is still where I host all my images online although as opposed to SmugMug being my entire website as it was before it is now hidden behind this new WordPress front end. The beauty of combining both this way is that I get a slick front end that is easier to customise and control with the power of SmugMug to look after my images online securely.

One of the big advantages of WordPress is that it ties into social media so well that with a single click all my social media streams are updated in one go. No more having to update each individual feed one at a time.

It has been a busy couple of weeks pulling all the changes together but I am pretty happy with the results so far. Let me know what you think of it.

My Canon has been dusted off, batteries charged, memory card formatted, ready for 2015 the year of HD Images!
